Had band prac till about 9.30pm there about. Band prac was like the good old days. where the music lovers come together to play music. NICE NICE. of course there was a downside. you see, we're all damn old, and have yet to touch those instruments for years. as for me, i forgot how the tone sounds like. Almost cant pitch the tuning note Bb. :/ cause i thought there would be a short warm out or something. But there isnt. lolx
so we sight read Merry widow, highlandler overture, and Ireland. yeah, we've sight right, played them before for the different batches of seniors. for the recent batches, of course we know how to play Merry widow. it was this piece that made us clinched the first GOLD FOR SMSB. yeap yeap, that's right, it was my batch that did it :D while playing, all the passion came back. of course we were short of some soloists. PEOPLE LIKE ARCHANA with her extremely high C that lasted for 4 bars in the last section. Having that missed out was weird. also, the slow section the 'lullaby' the glockenspiel and flute solos. of course i didnt forget the part where our section has to do the off beat. Off beat is the greatest enemy to all non-percussion players. you see, i have "rather good memory" and i remembered we have to follow some percussion instrument at the back of us. AND IT WAS SNARE DRUM! wahaha. yeah. there's a reason why tbone and percussion sections are near to each other ;))
We ended our band prac with STAND BY ME! images of the talent night at TIOMAN started flashing through my mind when the band sight read it. Andrew's solo, and the guys' A Capella with the "ah min mu whet"lolx sia!~ of course i had the urge to sing. but i didnt. you know, im a bad singer. lolx..
cant wait for the next prac. it's a sad thing that i wont be playing for the actual concert :((
